Our family attended our Uncle's 75th Birthday Party and Family Reunion this past weekend.
It was great to see; and be with, family. Especially those fun loving cousins!
The last time we had a Family Reunion was approximately 10 years ago.
For some reason, this recent gathering conjured up sentiments which caught me off guard. It must be my age. I'm 56.
I had a "moment". Looking around the room and remembering the "good 'ol days". And they were truly the "good 'ol days".
So, HaPpY 75TH BiRthDaY Tio Victor! It was so great to see you celebrating a joyous occasion!
Thank you Jesse and Sandy for hosting this grand occasion! And for opening your home!
We have a wonderful, loving family and I am proud to be a "Portillo".

It's raining!
I woke up to rain.
I am so happy it's finally raining!
Living in Southern California has its perks. Beautiful weather all the time.
Once in awhile, it would be nice to have a dreary day here and there.
The other day, my hairdresser was in a "depressed mood". When I called her, I told her she sounded sad as if something happened.
She responded and said, "No, it's just so dreary outside, I want to go home and crawl back into bed". Sorry, I don't get it.
When we get cold, dreary weather, I celebrate.
Yay! Now I can turn on the oven and bake my apple pie! Make some Snickerdoodles! Chocolate Chip cookies! The list is endless! But I have to do it today because I don't know how long this winter weather will last. I hear we'll be back to 80 degrees by Wednesday! Oh no! There's so much baking to do. Can I do it in two days? I better get going.
Do you love the winter as much as I do? Do you think I love winter because we don't get enough of it? Or do you think I would thrive in a "Wintery State" like say, Washington? or Idaho?
The pies, cakes and cookies are calling.
Until next time.
